CHD receives CHF 40,000 from Venture Kick to advance MONI2, its remote pregnancy monitoring solution for high-risk pregnancies. Combining a smart-textile fetal belt, predictive algorithms, and a digital monitoring platform, MONI2 enables clinicians to remotely track maternal and fetal health, helping improve outcomes while reducing hospitalizations and healthcare costs.

What was the first real signal that your solution worked outside the lab or pitch deck, and what did that moment change for you?
The idea for MONI2 came from discussions with leading gynecology and obstetrics experts who described the challenges of monitoring high-risk pregnancies. Existing remote monitoring solutions were either difficult to use or did not provide the quality of data needed for reliable clinical decisions.
Building on our experience in remote patient monitoring, we developed an early proof of concept and demonstrated that we could collect the medical data needed for accurate diagnosis and risk prediction from home. That was the moment we knew the solution could make a real difference for both patients and healthcare providers.
Can you briefly describe your project and where it stood when you entered Venture Kick?
MONI2 is an end-to-end remote pregnancy monitoring solution that allows pregnant women to be monitored from home while maintaining a normal daily life. At its core is a comfortable, washable smart-textile fetal belt that collects maternal and fetal ECG data, uterine contractions, and fetal movements.
The solution also includes a patient app, predictive algorithms, and a platform for healthcare professionals to remotely monitor pregnancies and focus on patients who need attention. By moving care from hospital to home, we aim to improve patient outcomes, reduce healthcare costs, and ease the burden on clinicians. When we entered Venture Kick, we had already developed an initial proof of concept and validated the feasibility of the technology.
How has the direction of your product/service/product strategy changed since working with the Venture Kick Team?
Venture Kick played an important role in helping us refine our strategy and business plan. One of the most valuable recommendations was to start engaging potential customers and partners earlier than we had planned.
That decision led to our first traction, letters of intent, and valuable feedback on the design of the product, app, and platform. It helped us better align the solution with market needs and stakeholder expectations.
How will the Stage 2 funding help you advance your project concretely?
Stage 2 funding will help us execute the next phase of our roadmap. We will use it to develop, test, and validate manufacturing-ready prototypes, further validate our predictive algorithms, and formalize key partnerships and strategic alliances.
It will also support ongoing fundraising efforts as we prepare to close the first tranche of our seed round. The funding comes at exactly the right time, helping us bridge the gap between pre-seed and seed stage while advancing toward functional prototypes by the end of the year.
