Tactus Technologies receives CHF 40,000 from Venture Kick to advance its sensor-based platform for bowed string instrument training. By capturing real-time data on technique such as pressure, angle, and speed, the solution provides objective feedback to students and teachers, aiming to transform how musical skills are taught and learned.

What was the first real signal that your solution worked outside the lab or pitch deck, and what did that moment change for you?

The real moment came when we tested our prototype with our own students. We’ve been teaching for decades but seeing them react to their technique being turned into data changed the dynamic in the room completely.
We had already heard the same thing from teachers and musicians: people struggle to objectively see their own technique. What our sensor does is make it visible, measurable, and teachable. That moment confirmed we were solving a real, deeply felt problem.

Can you briefly describe your project and where it stood when you entered Venture Kick?

Tactus Technologies is building a hardware-enabled SaaS platform for bowed string instruments. Our sensor attaches to the bow and captures finger pressure, angle, and speed in real time, giving students and teachers objective feedback on technique.
When we entered Venture Kick, we had validated the concept with teachers and performers and built a working proof of concept. However, manufacturing wasn’t finalized, and the system was still running on developer boards. We had strong validation, but the product wasn’t yet ready to scale as a business.

How has the direction of your product/service/product strategy changed since working with the Venture Kick Team?

We came in very product-focused, deep in hardware and software development. Venture Kick pushed us to think more about go-to-market and execution.
We accelerated R&D and reached a pilot-ready device, but the bigger shift was strategic. We defined our sales approach and are now bringing the product directly to teachers and institutions across multiple countries. Instead of waiting, we started engaging the market early.

How will the Stage 2 funding help you advance your project concretely?

Stage 2 funding allows us to push on two fronts at once. It supports our initial market entry, getting devices into the hands of teachers and generating first sales, while also enabling pilot deployments in institutions.
These pilots are key. They help us build real-world data on learning impact, turning Tactus from a promising hardware product into a credible EdTech platform.
